Purpose of LAF’s National Youth Conference:

Le Antonio’s Foundation’s first (1st) Annual “National Youth Conference-November 2016” will bring together youths between the ages of 13-21 across the parishes of western Jamaica, for an unforgettable day of self-empowerment that will last throughout their lifetime –as their vision expands with the experience gained from meeting successful adults and introduction of multiple career paths!

The core of Le Antonio’s Foundation surrounds the well-being of Jamaica’s youths:  Le Antonio’s Foundation believes in the success of our youths –we believe in helping them attain their goals and dreams. We acknowledge that they are the staple of the future, and are confident that any current investment in the future of our adolescents and young adults is a wise benefit in the welfare of Jamaica’s future, and a surefire safeguard in the reduction of poverty and improved quality of life for the future of our generation; in short -we believe in Jamaica.

This Youth Conference will be a milestone in defining to our youths the pathways that will lead to their future success as young adults; demonstrating keys that they can use to open the competitive “doors” of their future, while they move into adulthood in twenty-first century.

The theme of this 2016 Youth Conference is: “Influencing and Empowering Youths to Succeed.”

The commitment of Le’Antonio’s Foundation first (1st) Annual Youth Conference-2016 will focus on agendas such as:

Who Can Attend the Jamaica Annual Youth Conference-2016

Student: Those in grades 6 through 12 for the 2015-16 school year. Trade school students and displaced youths invited by Le Antonio’s Foundation.

Staff: Only for those who have been asked by LAF prior to the 2016 Youth Conference to serve in a specific role while at the conference.

Adult Guest: Those (age twenty five and older) that have been invited by LAF to attend the 2016 Youth Conference

Exhibitor/Conference Rep: A representative of an organization who has arranged with LAF to have a booth at the 2016 Youth Conference.

Volunteers: Help” hold the door open” for students to experience the momentum of the 2016 Youth Conference!

 

Start Time/Open Mic Hour

  • Venue: Mt. Ward Methodist Circuit – St. John’s Methodist Church.
    2 Duke Street, Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • Date: November 10, 2016
  • Time: 7:30 am-4:30 am

The conference will commence with complimentary continental breakfast and one hour and thirty minutes (1hr: 30 min) of question and answer (Q& A) section, where general youth issues and goals will presented in an open microphone forum, moderated by college students and selected youth leaders from the group of youths.

Speakers/Break/Conclusion

The Q & A section will be followed by the introduction of the scheduled speakers in fifteen (15) minutes intervals, breaking at 12pm-1pm for lunch, and continuing until 4:30 pm at the conclusion of the conference.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided complimentary to the attendees of the conference.

Conference Material-Keepsakes

The conference will be recorded and CDs or DVDs provided to the youths and anyone requesting as reference material. Other reference materials and keepsakes will also be provided.

Vendors/Exhibitors

We invite businesses, organizations and vendors nationwide to apply to the Foundation for booth or space display rental.

Speakers

Le Antonio’s Foundation will invite professional volunteer speakers from various paths of lives:

Teachers/Professors, Hospitality Management, Hotel Services, Physicians, Lawyers, Nurses, Banking Professionals, Managers, Business Entrepreneurs, Information Technology, Media Professionals, Various Trade Professionals, Politicians, Agriculture Professionals, Current University, College and trade school students etc.

Volunteers

The Conference cannot be a success without volunteers- Le Antonio’s Foundation seek the assistance of various volunteers to assist in marketing and getting the word out about the 2016 Youth Conference, managing the media for the conference, food preparation, transportation, etc. Any area that individuals can contribute to will be considered.

Budget Coverage

The budget for this project will consider cost of the following:

  • Cost of venue rental Marketing
  • Cost Food and beverage supply, utensils and utilities in food preparation
  • Transportation Cost of the students
  • Media recording and supplies
  • Reference materials and keepsakes

The conference will be the first and most represented youth event in Jamaica that will be a revival for the youth of the 21st century.
