Ms. Kizanne James — Vice President, Jamaica Medical Students’ Association

Le Antonio’s Foundation Youth Conference 2015 welcomes Kizanne James as a speaker of our Youth Conference 2015! Ms. James is a final year medical student with over 15 years’ experience in youth leadership and volunteerism at the church, school and community level.

Her contributions have not only benefited those she serves but over the years has earned her numerous awards some of which included the University of the West Indies Mona Campus Award for Outstanding Leadership, the President’s Award from the Jamaica Medical Students’ Association and the Most Promising Young Vocalist Award. She also has a track record for academic excellence earning herself over 15 awards from the schools she attended with a special award in Music and Biology.

Ms. Kizanne James is the current Vice President of the Jamaica Medical Students’ Association; overseeing portfolios of Public Health, Medical Education, Reproductive Health and Rights, Human Rights, Policy and Advocacy. She has also been selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago as a Women Deliver Young Leader, a special cohort of 200 young people from 94 countries, this prestigious award not only provides a full scholarship to the Women Deliver Youth Conference in Denmark but also consist of online training and opportunities to improve the rights and health of women and girls in the region.

Kizanne is passionate about the development of Caribbean youth and has so founded Caribbean Youth for Philanthropy, which she hopes can be a resource for budding youth leaders for years to come. Her experience and passion for youth leadership will be a welcome resource to the youths attending Le Antonio’s Youth Conference 2015, on November 5, 2013.
